Dryden Police have dispelled one “Urban Legend”.
Officers retrieved a man who was fast asleep in some bushes on
Government Street but were quickly struck by the odour of fresh skunk.
The man told officers that a long time ago, a family member told him
that if you picked a skunk up by the tail, it couldn’t harm you.
Armed with this information, the man confronted a skunk while walking
home under the influence.
He reached down and picked it up by the tail, only to be sprayed point
blank in the chest and face.
The enraged skunk then spun around and bit his hand.
The man calmly dropped the animal and passed out in the bush.
Tip of the Day, Don’t Pick a Skunk up by the Tail
