Tough On Crime Legislation Debated In Ottawa

The Harper Government’s tough on crime agenda is now being debated and the government says the legislation ensures people who break the law serve the right amount of time.
Crime rates have been on the decline since 1995 with the drop in the population of young men between 15 and 24 years of age.
Over 30 new laws are being introduced including providing additional support to victims and protecting children from a range of sexual offences at home and abroad.
