Health Canada is out with a safety guideline for buying kids toys for the holidays.
Consumer Product Safety Officer Kimberly Liska says when picking out that special present you should make sure the toys are appropriate for the age of the child as some toys for older children may have small parts that are unsafe for younger kids.
You should also pay close attention to labels, warnings, safety messages and assembly instructions.
