The Transportation Safety Board and Canadian Pacific are looking at what caused an oil leak from a freight train that derailed halfway between Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie this morning.
Spokesman Ed Greenberg says two of the 20 or so cars that came off the tracks near the community of White River contained light sweet crude that temporarily leaked.
There is no threat to public safety.
Greenberg says it’s believed about four barrels escaped and cleanup procedures are underway.
