15-water plant operators will receive a crash course on dealing with
working in confined spaces Thursday.
The Keewaytinook Centre of Excellence in Dryden has brought in a
mobile training unit.
Rescue Specialist Kurt Bohme says the 40-foot trailer simulates
several scenario’s and workplace hazards that workers may face on the job site.
Bohme says the simulator allows trainees to safely try different things
they may use in the workplace.
The training will also help operators adapt to new strict Provincial
Legislation dealing with working in confined spaces.
Dryden residents are also invited to visit the centre Thursday afternoon (14th) to
view the simulator and tour the water training facility.
