TransCanada officials say to oppose the Energy East pipeline at this time would be premature.
Ontario Director of the Energy East Project Stefan Baranski says the project is still in the early stages of its regulatory review process.
Baranski says they are using this time to meet with those impacted as well as work with communities along the route.
He adds they expect the application to clear all hurdles by early next year.
Peter Lang with Citizens United for a Sustainable Planet says, even though pipelines are a federal issue, it’s important to continue lobbying city councils.
