Provincial Police are investigating a transport truck that caught on fire Sunday evening on Highway 17 west of Kenora.
Police say a mechanical problem resulted in a fire in the trailer part of the semi while it was travelling in the area of Inglis Road.
The driver of the truck managed to move to the shoulder of the roadway and separate the trailer from his rig.
Fire crews were able extinguish the blaze and the trailer was moved off into a ditch.
The OPP say no charges will be laid in connection to the incident, which closed the Trans-Canada for over three hours.
