Grand Council Treaty 3 says it wants OPP Commissioner Julian Fantino to address some of the issues raised following the shooting of a 39-year-old Grassy Narrows woman last week in downtown Kenora.
Grand Chief Diane Kelly says the Commissioner should join her in dealing with the social unrest caused by the shooting.
She says the OPP promised bias-free policing when it took over from the Kenora Police Service last year and suggests the shooting is not a good start.
Treaty 3 adds that it wants to be a partner or have some oversight into the SIU investigation of the shooting.
