The Chief of Treaty #3 Police says First Nation Police Services should be adequately funded so they can meet necessary requirements.
Brian Rupert was on the witness stand yesterday at the inquest looking into the shooting death of Geronimo Fobister in August 2003.
Rupert says they lack the facilities and resources needed for a stand-alone Police Service.
He says they still don’t have their own Detachment Office and many communities they serve don’t have adequate facilities for Officers to detain suspects.
