Treaty #3 Grand Chief Pointing To Discrepancies In Child Welfare Funding

The Grand Chief of Treaty #3 says there is a huge discrepancy in funding child-welfare agencies.

Francis Kavanaugh says it has been proven in court that Canada has been discriminating when it comes to providing the necessary dollars to take care of Indigenous children who require services.

He says the main barrier is government red tape with outdated practices that need to be done away with.

The Trudeau Liberals have promised to begin funding Indigenous child-welfare agencies at a full level. (File Photo)
