Treaty 3 Police Introduce New Street Crime Unit

Improving health and safety in Treaty 3 Communities.
That’s the goal of the new Street Crime Unit at the Treaty 3 Police Service.
Detective Sergeant Terry McCaffrey says they are working to end substance abuse issues.
The unit was created with members of the drug enforcement office, intelligence office, and gangs and guns office.
It began operating at the beginning of July.
McCaffrey says the unit is working with numerous substance abuse agencies.
He notes they will also have a very active approach at community events such as pow wows.
