The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says it has a number of events planned for Treaties Recognition Week.
Sean Monteith is the Director of Education and he says most of their schools will be hosting some sort of activity.
Monteith says it’s an important part of their reconciliation efforts.
He notes that means action and ensuring all students graduate together.
Monteith says he’s proud of their leadership in the region and notes they have leveled the playing field for all northern children at a critical time in their history.
On Monday, Dryden High School is hosting Elder Teachings during the lunch hour, while a Feasting School Drum event will be held in the Cultural Room at Sioux Mountain Public School at 12:40.
