The Treaty Three Police Service is searching for a suspect who assaulted two of their officers.
Police say early Monday morning, the officers were trying to arrest a man in Grassy Narrows First Nation wanted on a couple of outstanding warrants.
When the suspect spotted the officers he attacked one of them, causing both to fall to the ground.
The second officer then tried to apprehend the assailant, but other members of the community surrounded them, allowing the culprit to escape.
Treaty 3 Police say the incident is currently under investigation and charges are pending against both the suspect and members of the community who impeded the arrest.
