Trucker Sent to Federal Pen

A 43 year old Orillia man is off to penitentary for 25 months following his conviction on assualt charges.
Francis Schrauwen attacked Dryden OPP Constable Scott Davidson late on the evening of November 23rd last year.
Davidson had pulled the rig over for a minor highway traffic act violation on Highway 17 near the 7-11 when as Schrauwen testified, he snapped & kicked the Officer in the face.
In a victim impact statement, Davidson said he is still having trouble sleeping & suffers anxiety problems as well.
The 9 year veteran of the OPP suffered a cracked jaw, broken teeth & other injuries in the attack.
A passing motorist who helped subdue the suspect also suffered minor injuries.
