There is a vacancy on the Keewaitin Patricia District School Board.
Trustees declared the opening last night when they accepted the resignation of former Red Lake resident Pat Sayeau.
He left for Southern Ontario several months ago but never bothered to notify the Board.
Trustees can only remain in office if their primary residence is within the School District.
Officials hope to fill the position by the end of this year.
