A combination of track and rail conditions and a long heavy-loaded train is being identified as reason for a 2013 train derailment east of Fort Frances.
Forty grain cars of a CN train left the tracks near Nickle Lake in November of that year.
In its review of the accident, the Transportation Safety Board say neither factor on its own would have caused the accident, but combined, would have been likely sufficient to create necessary conditions for the derailment.
