TSB On Scene Of Fatal Wasaya Plane Crash

Investigators from the Transportation Safety Board are piecing together Friday’s fatal Wasaya Airways plane crash near Pickle Lake.

A team was deployed this weeked and arrived on scene of the downed aircraft Sunday afternoon.

Spokesperson Roxanne Daoust says they will examine and document the wreckage, as well as review weather conditions, aircraft maintenance and pilot training records. Daoust says, right now, they’re assessing any information they can get and, based on what they find, will determine how indepth of an investigation is required.

She says, rather than place blame, the TSB looks at what happened and why in an effort to avoid such accidents from happening again.

The single pilot on-board, Captain Nick Little, was discovered unresponsive and could not be resuscitated by search and rescue crews, Friday night. (Photos supplied by Transportation Safety Board)
