Two arrested for trafficking during traffic stop

Two people from Hamilton face drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop in Dryden.

The OPP stopped a vehicle Wednesday afternoon on Government Street.

Through investigation, with the help of the Nishinawbe Aski Police Service, a quantity of cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine were found.

Police also seized some Canadian currency, a Taser, brass knuckles, a switchblade knife and other other items associated with the drug trade.

A 54 year old man and a 39 year old woman face three charges each for trafficking, as well as three counts of possession of property obtained by crime under 5 thousand dollars and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

They’ll appear in Kenora Court on Friday.
