Two Charged After Possible Overdose Deaths

Provincial Police have charged two people after two suspected overdose deaths in Chapleau.

OPP say that on January 30th, they were called to a home where a 35-year-old was found unresponsive and later pronounced deceased. On February 2nd, officers checked on a 55-year-old at their home and found the person had died.

On Thursday, OPP and Nishnawbe Aski Police Service raided two homes on Brunswick House First Nation near Chapleau, which turned up suspected opiates, amphetamines and other evidence of drug trafficking.

Two residents of the First Nation are facing drug trafficking charges.
