Two Dryden friends will showcase their hunting skills on a new reality television show set to air next year.
Marc McNay and Denise Dubois are competing on “The Search”, which will feature hunters going head to head for a chance to have their very own program.
McNay spoke to CKDR Newsroom this afternoon, and says he looked into it last year but didn’t follow through with it, but this year the producer personally called him to get the ball rolling.
McNay and Dubois have been filming their hunts so far, and will do that until December 15th which is when the hunting season ends. They are both doing archery bear, McNay is doing an archery moose hunt, and both of them are doing a goose, partridge and rifle/archery deer hunt.
Dubois says they get voted on by a celebrity judge each week, which accounts for half of the votes and the other half will come from the community, friends and family.
Folks can visit “The Real Deal with Marc McNay” on Facebook to show their support and cast their votes.
McNay says it’s been an incredible opportunity so far and they have received a lot of support from local businesses, adding this is a very expensive undertaking.
On the hunting side, both McNay and Dubois agreed that their main goals are to have fun, get some “killer video footage” and make their sponsors happy.
McNay says by doing those things, they believe they will be in the Top 3 groups.
McNay believes that they are the only couple from Northwestern Ontario, but is making a point to not follow other teams because he doesn’t want to be influenced by what they’re doing.
The show will air in March 2014, and will run for 13-weeks on Wild TV.
