Two Leaders Confirmed for Northern Debate

Liberal Leader Dalton McGuinty is the lone holdout for a Northern Ontario leaders debate ahead of the October 6th election.
The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association is hosting the debate in Thunder Bay next Friday morning.
NDP Leader Andrea Horwath tells CKDR News that McGuinty is once again turning his back on Northerners.
Horwath says McGuinty is not prepared to face local residents in the form of a debate.
She notes the Premier didn’t even release his Northern platform in this area.
Horvath didn’t answer a question whether she would allow Michael Gravelle to replace the Premier at the table.
P.C. Leader Tim Hudak tells CKDR News the Liberals don’t care about local issues.
Hudak says McGuinty has given up on Northern Ontario, noting it’s another slap in the face after releasing the Grit North platform in Toronto.
Hudak notes he’s turning his attention to Andrea Horwath.
He says there’s major differences between the two Northern platforms and he’s anxious to start the debate.
Dalton McGuinty says he’ll instead push for a Northern segment in the televised leaders’ debate September 27th in Toronto.
McGuinty is in Thunder Bay tonight and tomorrow morning. (Wednesday/Thursday)
