Two Onigaming Residents Face Weapons Charges

Two people from the Onigaming First Nation, southeast of Kenora, face charges following an August 31st break and enter.

Treaty 3 Police say a rifle, some ammunition and a compound bow with arrows were stolen.

The Criminal Investigation Unit branch of Treaty 3 Police, the Street Crime Team and the Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau conducted the probe.

A 26-year-old and a 31-year-old man were both arrested and the weapons were seized.

They have been charged with break and enter, theft, unauthorized possession of a firearm, mischief and failing to comply with their release conditions.
