Two Record Temperatures Set; More Falling Today

It was a record breaking day in two communities Wednesday as new records were set in Dryden and Kenora.
The records were set just before midnight.
Dryden hit -30.4, smashing the old mark set in 1996 of -25.5.
Kenora beat a 50-year-old record by reaching -31.
The old record was -29.4
CKDR Meterologist Bill Laidlaw says new records have already been set today or will be set before the end of the day.
Laidlaw says we are stuck in the middle of the polar vortex that refuses to move.
The bitter cold temperatures will stay with us through the weekend, with warmer temperatures not expected until mid-next week.
