Underground Mining Incident Claims Life Of New Brunswick Man

Provincial Police are reporting a death at the Impala Canada mine on Highway 527, north of Thunder Bay.

OPP say officers responded to a mining incident around 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the man died as a result of injuries he sustained underground.

The victim has been identified as 64-year-old Edward Gallant of Dunlop, New Brunswick.

OPP, the Ministry of Labour and the Regional coroner’s office are all involved in the investigation.
