Unifor is supporting the Women’s Shelter in Dryden.
The Local 324 Women’s Committee conducted a recent fundraising drive and raised more than $1,600 for the Hoshizaki House.
Chair Carol Jolicour says local shelters provide lifesaving assistance as frontline providers of crisis services to women and children who are living with domestic violence.
She notes the current COVID-19 crisis has made the dire situation even worse.
Jolicour says 100% of the money they donate is used for the betterment of women and children that find themselves in that shelter.
Unifor provides funding annually to the Hoshizaki House and is planning a fundraising market in early November.
