Unifor negotiations with Dryden’s Domtar pulp mill and woodlands broke down yesterday.
The union covers over 500 employees, including 225 production, maintenance, office members and 300 wood harvesting, chipping and hauling members.
Union Spokesperson Stephen Boon says they have been bargaining for a new deal with the company since October but they have hit an impasse.
He goes on to say they’ll implement the Eastern Canada Pulp and Paper Pattern with Domtar through the conciliation process prior to taking any potential strike action.
The last collective agreement for Unifor Local 105 and 324 expired on August 31, 2014.
