Unmarked Cigarettes Seized West Of Vermilion Bay

Another large seizure of illegal smokes on the Trans-Canada Highway in northwestern Ontario.

Provincial Police stopped a vehicle Tuesday afternoon for a highway traffic act violation west of Vermilion Bay.

Officers found and seized 41 cases of unmarked cigarettes worth an estimated 164-thousand dollars.

OPP say 50-year-old Michael Kiernan and 22-year-old Paige Kiernan, both from Saskatoon, as well as 27-year-old Diamond Poorman of Thornhill, Ontario all face charges of trafficking in contraband tobacco.
