Cat Lake residents are being allowed to go back home because two large forest fires in the area are posing no problems.
Ministry of Natural Resources Information Officer Carin Glassford says one fire is Red Lake #84 that is burning 25-kilometres away from the community.
The blaze is 42,000 hectares in size but isn’t expected to grow.
The other fire is Sioux Lookout #64 that is burning 60-kilometres away from the community.
The blaze is nearly 21,000 in size but isn’t expected to grow.
There are now 108 forest fires burning in Northwestern Ontario.
