Valleyview School COVID Outbreak Still Being Investigated

The Northwestern Health Unit continues to work with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board to minimize the impact of recent COVID-19 cases at Valleyview Public School in Kenora.

There are no new confirmed cases however the investigation is ongoing.

Health officials say it’s too early to know for sure that there was transmission in the school but they aren’t ruling it out at this time.

Cases and close contacts have been advised to self-isolate.

The school remains open to students who haven’t been identified as close contacts.

Anyone who gets tested must self-isolate until they get their test results, even if they begin to feel better.

All students and staff must use the Government of Ontario’s school screening tool daily before attending class.
