Vanthof Pushes For More Ring of Fire Support

The MPP for Timiskaming Cochrane is pushing support for the Ring of Fire.
While debating the budget John Vanthof accused the Liberals of back tracking on their promises.
Vanthof pointed out the budget requires a matching 1 billion dollars in federal funds, money that was guaranteed in the election.
He believes the giant mining project will never truly get off the ground until the province leads the way.
Vanthof recently visited a camp in the area and says it opened his eyes to the governments oversight to build infrastructure.
He says there was no base at the Ring of Fire and it’s not rock.
The budget was passed Thursday as the government closed the books on the summer session.
