The Red Lake/Ear Falls OPP responded to a report of a stolen vehicle Saturday evening.
A few minutes later the vehicle was located in a ditch just south of Red Lake off Highway 105.
The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested.
As a result of the investigation, Suzie STRANG (27 years), of Red Lake, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
• Theft of Motor Vehicle contrary to Section 333.1
• Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to Section 253(1)(a)
• Driving with Over 80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of blood contrary to Section 253(1)(b)
• Drive Motor Vehicle with no Licence contrary to Section 32(1), and
• Assault Police contrary to Section 271(a) (3 counts).
• The accused was also charged with the following Highway Traffic Act offence:
• Fail to Remain at Scene of Accident contrary to Section 200(1)(a).
