Vermilion Bay Man Fined For Illegal Hunting

A reminder from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry that shooting from a vehicle is both dangerous and illegal.

An investigation into a November, 2019 incident has resulted in a Vermilion Bay man being fined $5,500 for attempting to illegally kill a deer.

Conservation officers conducted a deer decoy operation to address ongoing issues of deer being shot on private property in the Waldhof area.

Court heard that Ronald Gangloff was traveling on Rhyner Road when he spotted the decoy on private property beyond a fence and signs.

He stopped, loaded his gun and fired a shot from inside his vehicle.

Gangloff was charged with three offences.
