Vermillion Bay Credit Union Branch To Close

The Northern Lights Credit Union is closing down its Vermillion Bay branch this summer.

The Credit Union has posted a notice to their members saying the branch will cease operations June 30th.

They say Vermillion Bay’s branch size is no longer viable in the long term.

CEO Ernie Remillard says today’s economic climate and changing technology makes the bran unviable. One of the Credit Union Branches in Thunder Bay will also close.

Remillard says staff from Vermilion Bay will be absorbed into operations elsewhere and will not lose their jobs.
