In loving memory of Verna May Simard, age 50 of Vancouver BC, who passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011.
Verna May is survived by her children; Marcel & Shawn Shabaquay, Monique & Jesse Ranville, and granddaughter Ellissa Rose Shabaquay and brother Cecil Simard. She was predeceased by her parents Charles & Tina, son Reggie, and brother Mitchell.
Verna May’s hobbies were doing crossword puzzles, Sudoku, listening to Country music. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends, reading, writing and Bannock making. She worked at the Empress Hotel as a waitress and was a customer service rep. at the Vancouver Bottle Depot.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 23rd, 2011 at the Wabigoon Lake First Nation Community Hall from 6 p.m. until the time of service.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 25th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wabigoon Lake First Nation Community Hall with Native Elder Gilbert Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in the Wabigoon First Nation Cemetery.
