City Police have released the name of a Dryden woman who died in an apartment fire Sunday morning.
50-year-old Darlene Chartrand died of smoke inhalation in the 5 o’clock blaze that gutted one of the apartments in the Second Stage Housing complex.
Dryden police, Fire and Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office investigators say no foul play is suspected and that the fire was not accidental.
Police Inspector Kevin Glenister says the fire investigation has wrapped up and no charges have been laid.
The ignition source of the fire was not released.
Glenister says that “something caught on fire.”
Nine others who resided in the building were treated for smoke inhalation and released.
Damage is estimated at approximately $100,000.
