Patricia Region Senior Services needs the communities help for their new program.
The program is joint a initiative with the Dryden Regional Health Centre in providing home cooked meals to seniors.
The meals are provided once a week at a cost of $5.25 and are delivered to several locations including Patricia Gardens.
35-clients are involved in the meal program this year.
Program Coordinator Penny Bradley says they are in desperate need of volunteers.
Bradley says additional bodies will help make the “Social Lunch” program more viable, effective and efficient.
It will also allow for future expansion.
Bradley says, by keeping seniors in their home for as long as possible they can keep them out of the hospital as well as prevent depression, isolation and any related illnesses.
