It was a long day for area fire crews.
On Sunday around 11am, Wabigoon Fire received a call about a house fire off Muskiemerk Road on the Cliffs.
The lone occupant of the home was able to get out shortly after the call was made.
The Dryden Fire Service and Oxdrift Fire assisted, and crews spend about 8 hours putting out the blaze, which was severely hampered by the older construction of the home.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that the fire started in a crawl space close to a heated water line.
Wabigoon Fire spent an additional 4 hours dousing the home, which is a complete loss.
