Wabigoon Lake Signs MOU With Tamaka Gold

Wabigoon Lake Ojibway First Nation and Tamaka Gold Corporation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding relating to the company’s Goldlund project in the area.
The MOU outlines the process for conducting exploration activities within traditional land.
Wabigoon Lake Chief Rueben Cantin says he looks forward to working with Tamaka and notes this is an important first step.
Cantin says creating a good working relationship with Tamaka will help his community develop the capacity in mining that will benefit the future of the community.
Tamaka is conducting exploration activity near Sioux Lookout.
The MOU addresses several issues including employment, training, financial contributions and economic and business opportunities.
