Wabigoon Team Wins Red Lake Classic

It was a great weekend for Richard Wetelainen and Steve Parenteau as they captured first place in the annual Red Lake Fall Classic.
The Wabigoon anglers were in first place after day one and held on to win with a two day total of 31.97 pounds, despite a charge from Dryden’s John Butts and Larry Meadows who moved from 49th to second place on Sunday with a two day total of 30.65 pounds.
Wetelainen and Parenteau took an $11,000 cash prize and they also won $1,300 in ‘big fish’ money from the first day.
Meadows and Butts had ‘big fish’ money and the largest fish of the tournament with a walleye that was 8.01 pounds.
Peter Rogalka and Jerry Kruczek took third with 30.43 pounds total weight.
