Walleye Regulations #1

The Ministry of Natural Resources has put into effect new

walleye fishing regulations for the Winnipeg River and

surrounding lakes.

Assistant Biologist Lorrie Skitt says non-residents will

only be allowed to keep 2 walleyes with a sports license,

and 1 with a conservation.

She adds the new slot size and limit changes will benefit

all anglers down the road.

Anglers can now only keep walleyes measuring between 35

and 45 centimeters.

The changes are part of the province’s 2-year

recreational fishing regulations summary.
