Warm, Dry Weather Linked To Climate Change?

This summer’s wildfires and prolonged heat waves have many wondering whether this is a result of climate change.

Environment Canada spokesperson David Phillips says climate change is a long process that kind of sneaks up on you.

Phillips says it’s not here to stay, noting it’s a case of up-and-down and a slow kind of trend over decades.

However, Phillips calls the latest weather a ‘dry run’ for what weather will look like in the future.

He says the types of storms and weather we’re accustomed to seeing every once in a while may become more frequent.

And although it’s a slow process, Phillips says there’s no question what direction the thermometer is going.
