Warm Weather In Northwest

Northwestern Ontario had the warmest November and December ever.
David Phillips, senior weather specialist with Environment Canada, says the average temperature in November was six degrees above normal in the region.
The trend continued through the first half of December.
Phillips adds the long range outlook for January calls for colder than normal temperatures in Eastern Canada and warmer than normal in the West.
As a result, he says this region can expect a little bit of both.
So far this winter, snowfall amounts have been slightly below normal.
