Wasaya Airways has introduced an innovative new approach to recruit new pilots.
The Northern First Nations-owned company is now working with the Air Lines Pilots Association to recognize the industry experience of qualified pilots.
The agreement bridges the gap for a limited time, welcoming recruits with industry leading wages and benefits, by-passing a previous drop on the pay-scale.
Officials say a lot of experienced pilots in the communities they serve were looking to move to Wasaya, but were held back because making the move would mean a drop to the bottom of the pay and benefits scale.
