Water and Taxi Rates Going Up

Dryden residents will see a few changes in the community next month.
Council approved a number of recommendations at Monday night’s open meeting.
A 10% increase for water, a 2.5% hike for taxi service and historical signage at Cooper Park are a few of the suggestions council approved.
The water hike was needed to eliminate the waterworks deficit and will be the final one before water metres are introduced.
The taxi increase better reflects rates around the region.
Council also says without the hike, the company would be forced out of business because it cannot keep up with higher gas prices and the implementation of the HST
The next scheduled Council meeting is on July 12th.
