Water rates are going up in the City of Dryden.
Next Tuesday, Council is expected to approve a 10% increase, effective July first.
The Waterworks Department has been accumulating an annual deficit since 2003, which now sits at $700,000.
The City is also recommending that effective July of next year, all owners of tenant occupied properties will be responsible for water and
sewer charges of all units.
The move would put the onus on the landlord to collect or charge tenants.
That decision isn’t expected to be made until a later date.
