Another fantastic day yesterday – Tuesday, June 7th, as I presented at Dryden Regional Health Centre (on behalf of my personal fundraising Team….you know who you are) a $7,000 Touch2Play unit and several Dementia & Alzheimer aids that will be used to help patients during their hospital stay.
Last week I had presented at Dryden’s long term care home – Princess Court – the first of the two Touch2Play units and many Dementia & Alzheimer aids that our Team had fundraised for to make possible. Also a very special framed print titled ‘Memory Passages’ by professional Encaustic & Mixed Media Artist – Kim McCarthy (my sister) was donated to Princess Court. It was immediately hung by administration on the wall by the elevator on the first floor for all visitors and residents to see. You can view more of Kim’s work here: https://www.kimmcc.com/
I can not say enough about how truly grateful and humbled I am for the support I received for this project. The response was amazing! Individuals, businesses and also Open Roads School coming together to achieve a common goal – to help those in the Dryden area who are living with Dementia and Alzheimers.
WE did it! WE did it together!! WE raised over $19,000 and completed an amazing project together!!! It succeeded because of the many who opened their hearts. Again you’ve made me proud to call Dryden and Northwestern Ontario my home….but I’m more proud of the kindness of the residents who live here.
WE proved once again that not only CAN WE do more together…..WE DID!!! Thank you sooooo much for your continued kindness.
Be proud. I am.
Hope you enjoy the pictures……
