Even in an unprecedented year, the 2020 ‘We Run This City Dryden’ is being deemed a success.
The run took place virtually earlier this year due to COVID-19 and Race Director Maggie Tremblay explains participants got to complete the half marathon at their own pace.
“We were so thrilled many people stuck with us this year ad participated in the race even though we did have to adapt and make it a virtual race. We were really happy with that and we really appreciate Dryden’s small businesses and how they support us and local events.”
Tremblay talks about the funds the event raised.
“We were able to raise 12 hundred dollars to be donated back into the community. This year it’s going to go towards recreational activities for seniors, so the money is being donated directly to Patricia Region Senior Services.”
‘We Run This City Dryden’ supports various local recreational activities every year.
Tremblay adds, organizers are already gearing up for next year’s race, with registration opening soon.
“Registration for the event will be available through the Running Room website and that will open December 26. We are also offering a way for people gift a running registration for next year, before Christmas.”
