Environment Canada is predicting snow – and has issued “Special Weather Statemets” and “Snowfall Warnings” across our area.
The “Special Weather Statement” covers Dryden, Vermilion Bay, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Kenora and Fort Frances. Significant snowfall on the way as a strong Alberta Clipper will spread a large area of snow across Northwestern Ontario beginning Tuesday morning and continuing into Tuesday night.
Latest indications show that a total of 10 to 15 cm of snow are likely with this weather system by Wednesday morning.
Poor winter travelling conditions from low visibility in snow and accumulating snow on untreated surfaces are expected.
Meanwhile, Red Lake and Ear Falls are under a “Heavy Snowfall Warning” that calls for up to 20 cm on Tuesday.
