A fundraising walk is being planned next summer by a young Webequie girl.
Grade 9 student Judith Beaver will make the trek from Pickle Lake to Ottawa.
The 15-year-old is hoping to raise money for an arena in the remote northern community.
Beaver says a new facility would make a big difference as there’s little for young people to do.
She says all they have is an outdoor rink and every winter kids go home with frostbite.
Beaver adds the rink is always covered in snow.
