The cause of a fire that gutted the Western Winds Restaurant in Dryden is still not known.
Chief Ken Kurz says the investigation into the Christmas Day blaze is still on-going and they are still waiting for specific numbers from the insurance company.
Kurz says the only thing known right now is the fire started on the main floor, in the rear of the building, but it’s not clear if it sparked inside or outside.
He notes original estimates for damage is around half-a-million dollars.
The neighboring Royal Canadian Legion sustained extensive water damage in the club room as a result of the fire.
